Default Removing rust inside sunroof tray.

I've always thought my sunroof was 100% mint. I've looked several times inside the roof and its always looked 100% clean, and there are no signs of bubbling on top or rusty bits floating around in the tray.

HOWEVER. Last night I decided to remove the entire sunroof and casette just to reassure myself and to properly Waxoyl. Low and behold, right at the back, just infront of the one drainage holes the paint has bubbled and flaked, so its obviously got some rust underneith it. Its about 5cm long and 1cm tall and its on the bottom edge. The rest is 100% clean. Not even any surface rust on the main roof!

Thing is whats the best way to remove this as its right up the back. The chap who rents part of my barn has a shot blasting company but hes away untill next week so can't ask him yet. Would it be possible to blast the rot out without damaging the roof? I'll get some pics up tonight.

You could try and get an angled dremel in there, grind away as much rust as you can, put on a rust repellent, and then try to either spray on some primer and paint (This will make an absolute mess, but you won't see it) to try and cover up the exposed metal, or squirt aload of waxoyl down there....or both!

i removed my sunroof yesterday to because i had a small amount of bubbling on my roof near my sunroof, i'm glad i did but wish i hadn't at the same time! lol, the only reason i did was because i'd been reading up on it on here, anyway this is what i found:

Lol the roof ain't coming off thats for sure. Just I dont like knowing it's there. Rest of the cars been restored seems silly to just let this carry on

I'm goin to try putting a screw driver on a peice of bamboo and scraping the loose paint off then putting a paintbrush with some Hammerite rust converter on it then waxoyl to fuck.
