Question About my new exhaust manifold
Hi all
Over the weekend I bought a inlet manifold and a exhaust manifold off ebay, i was told it was gasflowed, I got them them as i was a mega bargan, 9.99 each. I know im not going the adivitised bhp of 10bhp for the exh man and 20bhp for the inlet man.
I also know i need the injector manifold and the Throttle bady and cross over pipe gasflwed. Also head the will need to ported, polished and gasflowed.
Can someone help with any idea what sort bhp il be looking at, and someone to do the machining work need in the south lincs area?

Can any one help with ideas for lifting the bhp, my big plans in to build a full engine from 90% new parts that includes block crank and head( i working in campany that ford have a big part of) so i can bit silly cheap.
so my idea is to build a lighten and blanced bottom end using forge pistons and steel rods ect, block bored to a 1640cc. For the head, was going to either go stage 1 or 2, ported and polished, also the both inlet manifolds, throttle body, charger pipe also gasflowed, a good cam for road use, exhuast i was thinking standard manifold gasflowed, then a Ashley exhuast system.
Two thing im not sure on is turbo and ecu.
Hopefuly be heading for bout 250bhp and then have it mapped to 200-210bhp.

I dont get the bit where you are heading for about 250bhp, but have it mapped to 210bhp?
There is no need, certainly at that power, for anything other than a totally standard exhaust manifold. I also wouldn't bother porting manifolds, pipework or head really.
Spend your money on a PROPER EFi conversion. Thats where the power is.

disregarding every single other comment, may i ask why you have your heart set on an ashley exhaust system?! lol
on par with the likes of peco, i wouldnt have 1 of their systems on the top of my list haha. not to mention the dubious issue that my mate had a cheapo system made up for his daily merc c230 kompressor by ashley exhausts in walsall, then 2 days later a rather important earth lead disturbed during its build caused a massive electrical fire burning out the car whilst sat stationary on the drive
get the basics right 1st and foremost, stick to a mongoose exhaust

As said porting silly little bits like the exhaust manifolds/crossover pipe etc are going to gain you next to nothing if anything at all....money can be spent far better elsewhere! Again, as said, ditch the mfi and go for some sort of mappable management if you want to get the best out of everything!
