how 2 fit oil/air cooled turbo??

Default how 2 fit oil/air cooled turbo??

i bought a turbo off ebay 4 a escort rs, just tried 2 fit it, an its water cooled instead of oil cooled, is there any chance i can still fit it sum how? cheers

do i join the the oil feed to the water turbo feed or sumthin?

its always got oil going to it, other wise it would last about 1min.

can you post a pic? the turbo must have a oil feed, iirc S1 t3 was oil cooled only and S2 was oil and water cooled.

Just dont bother doing anything with the water pipes. Isnt essential.

Whatever you do dont join the water to the oil pipes!!!!

What you have is a S2 turbo which has water cooling (but isnt needed) and you must be running a S1 setup in your car which doesnt have water cooling.

So just hook up the oil pipes as they were on your old turbo, and leave the water pipes disconnected or even remove them from the turbo.

with no water i would advise that warm up / cool down correctly thou

just to be cautious

i never had a problem with mine (until i ran als)

Yes make sure you do this! Most important to let it idle for a minute or 2 before shutting off the engine or you'll get extreme heatsoak in your turbo and cook the oil in there!

cool, i always wait a min anyway at standstill b4 i turn it off, an 1st start up in morning i sit at idle for bout 5 mins
