Default Top end knocking sound

I get what i think/hope is not a knock as i let off the throttle from the top of my cvh, any ideas what it could be? The head has only done about 3k and the cam was fitted as a kit about 1500miles ago and run in properly.

As much as I am loathed to say it, it's had a lobe or two for lunch.

I think Kent expect you to change your cam each time you fill up with fuel. They should paint it yellow and call it a service item.

Piper cams for CVH aren't much better.

Newman are the best of whats available. Take that as words of experience, I have been through all this.

I might be wrong about it, but I have had one go within 500 miles and know of 3 others that did the same around the same time that were unrelated to us.

Not really. Rocker cover off, whip the lifters out and take a look is the best bet.

Not necessarily, it would tap less as oil pressure increases, and more as oil pressure decreases (like when you lift the throttle)

Newman only do one off-the-shelf CVH cam and thats ideal for you. It is solid lifter though, so 10 times more difficult to fit and set up than a normal cam, but with very little chance of problems.

Mine taps at idle, and if i raise the revs the tapping noise goes away. Any idea what this would be?

To be honest mine doesn't do it all the time. Its mainly when cold and idling, after that its fine but a little noisey at warm idle, but aren't all cvh's

You sound like you're trying to convince yourself that there isn't a problem!! Maybe there isn't. Get out there and have a look, it's really not that hard a job.
