10psi
when i get my s2 out this year i was thinking about geting a tuner to set it up to run as much boost as possible without a chip how do i no wether i have the ecu that can run 10psi
and is it just a case of adjusting the actuator or will i have to buy a-31 last time i had it set up it ran standard bhp and good torque(spelling) i am looking for about 150bhp.
if this is not atainable without a chip what is the next step.
thanks in advance

no no no
dont just turn actuator and adjust boost yourself, fuellin needs to be matched
your car mite not be fuellin right just now as it is and turnin it up yourself without gettin it checked could cause the engine to pop

Not entirely true i'm afraid there mate! you can actually run 10 psi on the standard ecu but i would suggest 9 psi so the overboost protection doesnt kick in when loading the engine in 4th or 5th!!

standard is 7 psi so you can go up 10 psi without chipping it, BUT dont just turn it up!!! take it to a tuner and get it set up properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TBH 10 PSI isn't that much. If the car's setup fine and all parts of the fuel system are in good order, it won't be a problem. But since all that stuff is 20+ years old, it's worth checking the fueling.
PS: Ran 15 PSI without any fuel adjustments on my fun car (I don't fear meltdowns lol). Car gets some good beating at amateur motorsports events but it just doesn't wanna blow up... There are no signs of underfueling though. Pulls like a train through all revs, no hesitating/stuttering and the spark plugs look healthy, too.

rob mate you can run 10psi on a 90 spec ecu and on a good engine you will see 140-150bhp.
your tuner will check things like
engine condition, sensor condition, wires to fuel pump for voltage, fuel ecu condition.boost leak test. if all OK he will turn your boost up using a 31-, and possible new plugs. then set the fueling to match. this is a good set up to a standard car. don't mess with it let a tuner do it. good luck. Marcus.
