ok guys looking into gettin a 1.8 zetec short block,with standar piston/rings standard rods and standard crank,

Q is, whtas the pistons like ? can they be used ok with the turbo ie how much boost they take ect,

can use std pistons,even skim them to lower the compression,but if u keep std pistons u nee a decomp plate,no the best way about it tho,

so i cant just use standar pistons with my cvh head once oil gallerys blocked ect,, how much looking at low comp pistons ?

u can do,but only be able to run very low boost without it melting!!check out ebay ect for pistons!not sure how many people do them for the 1.8,normally 2.1 pistons

you get decomp plates cheep as these days, and using the decomp plate and 2 head gaskets this is the cheepest way!

1.8 zetec gti pistons are dished this should lower the comps try them. can still buy short motors new think about£400

depends what u want least u know its right not like a second hand one i only bought the other as a spare as the one i have in my s1 has only done 1000k from new anyway
