Default Mk4 Cosworth?

Can a cosworth engine be put in a mk 4 escort the same way a normal engine is? ie, not how the cosworth engine sits in the escorts/sierras with the pullys facing the front, but how an rs turbo engine sits in the bay where the pulleys are in the side? just wondering if u could do this and run front wheel drive from it?

is that were the engine is going to sit when finished, might be the pics but it looks a awefull position to have it so far foward?

what gearbox are you using?

i would love for someone to post up a finished example thats works, im not doubting it can be done but with the time and effort going into it there are better options out there.

I've seen two yet. One in a GFJ (iirc it's the AVA mentioned above, was featured in a '02 Fast Ford) and one in a FBD. Second one was a narrow fit, they had to move the gearbox to make the engine fit and it still looks as it's rubbing on the inner arch...
