Default Ford Headbolts or Patent!!

Just bought a genuine ford gasket for a my S2, im not to sure if i should get either the Genuine Ford Headbolts or the ones you get from a spares shop? Any suggestions, the engine is running 210 BHP on low boost at the mo, but will be having it tunned up after relacing the gasket

I those 'Patent' ones are shiney......

The Ford ones and your local motor factor are both stretch bolts which are fine for moderate boost increases if torqued down correctly.
Spend a little more at Burtons or similar for the high tensile ones which
are a much beter bet and are reusable/the stretch one MUST be thrown
away after one use.

stick with the ford bolts , ive ran 2 bar with a t34 no complaints
do not reuse!!! you can get away with it on a na motor , not a boosted one

what quality can you expect from something made in the east?
ford would not supply rubbish

I have always used stretch bolts from a motor factor. A bolt won't fail once it has been torqued down. Ford don't make them anyway. And i run a lot of boost.

i wont use anything esle but Payen on mine, and thats the company that makes them for ford anyway., bit like Gates make cambelts for fords, so buy a proper gates belt instead. works out cheaper, but you still get the quality.

payen you can buy from local motor factors.
