Default Oil pump

Im just about to order a new oil pump for the current engine rebuild and wondered if its worth going for the high pressure pump that Burtons list.

Engine mods so far, Kent cam, Ported and polished head, 3 angle valves. I will also fit uprated intercooler, 2.5 inch zaust and chip. Theres also too much play in the turbo shaft so i may uprate that aswell.

Negative.

Stick with a genuine Ford one. I have heard too many horror stories about Burton oil pumps. Besides, the standard Ford oneis what Mr C and I use and both have very good oil pressure (for a CVH).

A High Flow pump would be ideal, but nobody makes these anymore for a CVH.

Thanks for that,

Any idea how much Mr Ford wants from a oil pump? I think my nearest Ford dealer is miles away

Not that i want to disagree with people but,,

The original and like said above the best is £127, twice the price of a pattern part i.e burtons.

I will buy the original one now as I dont want to trash my newly built engine but it just seems expensive.

That will be plus VAT aswell

only real reason to fit a higher pressure oil pump is if you like me have a huge oil cooler(same size as the airbox it replaced in my bay)

std pumps can be modded for higher pressure without too much hassle , although too much pressure will pop the seals on your turbo
