Default oh dear- need a new turbo?

after i upped my boost to 17 psi i noticed it was smoking a lot in other drivers headlights under boosting( i wasnt racing honest lol) not that noticeable during the day just at night in lights.... anyhow took the boost hoses off and they were covered with old carbonised oil and there was fresh oil trickling quite freely out of my boost hoses take it this means my seals have gone on the turbo?

wheres the best place to get a cheap hybrid stage 3?

If the engine is on the whole standard then you may have been overboosting, standard engines can't really take 17psi for very long without them going pop!

Doesn't necessarily mean turbo is shagged mate. Most RSTs seem to get oil in the boost pipes - they tend to breathe heavy anyway and pull it through the breather system. Turbo oil seals will weep slightly when the engine is cold anyway, becuase they are dependant on the engines back pressure. Get it checked out properly mate - compression and head gasket tests, might be water, oil, or simply overfuelling - wot colour is the smoke coming out the exhaust?

Get somone to follow you mate should be able to tell by the smell of the smoke, turbo burnt oil smells rank and very different to unburnt fuel.
