piper cams - good or bad please help!
i saw this brand new piper cam on ebay the other day and told my mates about it and they said " yeah man get it , instant 20bhp great stuff" so i told my old man i wanted it for xmas and he bid on it and won it. so i say to the lads tonight that im getting it and they turned around and said " oooh not a good idea mate they put too much pressure on your bottom end, itll go like fcuk and run sweet for about 3 weeks then it'll just blow your bottom end to bits!" is this true? if so what mods do i need to make to the engine to stop it from doing this or are they full of sh1t? im worried about putting it on my already running fine series 2.
the car is chipped with a k&n , d.v and full stainless running 0.8bar / 11psi ish of boost , any help much appreciated cheers lads!

im running about 20psi and never had a prob.
i would say you should run about 17/18 psi, BUT you have to make sure your fuelling enough for that type of boost. otherwise you will be pinky then BANG
Best take it to a turner to get properly setup

Are you using standart pistons stevo??
I want to run about 17psi on my car, and for that I'l be using a GRS evo3 intrcooler, use the cold start valve as a 5th injector, but i'l keep the standart pistons, think it will hold???

Yer standard pistons and compression with stage 3 head.
GRS cooler will do it job just make sure u have a manual switch for the fan as ur car will get hot in traffic with the big cooler.
5th injector does use the cold start valve so you should be able to run 20psi easy which is about 1.4 bar i believe
get a good clutch as well mate
