EFi fuel lines
I'm cool with all the electonics, loom etc, but was wondering how people go about the fuel lines when converting to efi.
The is obviously already a fuel retun and supply. The meteing head, fuel accumalator and pressure reg get binned. Where do people move the fuel filter too, and is it the same one used? What sort of connectors and hosing is used to feed the fuel rail?

I'm using Aeroquip on my fuel system, and I'm using a Skyline R32 fuel filter which is mounted under the air filter, almost. Christiano is using the original Bosch one so it can be done.

st170 breaking
i fitted a frst lump to my escort and just joined the fuel pipe after the original filter to the fuel rail 1 as supply and the return was as it was in k-jet
i just bung'd it together tho
keeping the std filter and accumulator cant do any harm

I kept my fuel filter in the same place and my accumulator when I converted mine.
I robbed the fuel filter to fuel rail pipe from an EFi Orion and it all fits fine

u don’t need to use the accumulator on the efi set up as it only design for an rst i got rid of my mk4 fuel filter with the banjo bolts and gone for the mk5-6 escort fuel pipes-lines as they are push on and off much neater - easier then an 19 mm bolt which they don’t make any more.

well when u do the efi convsion u by pass the accumulator and take it out all toghther i know on the mk3 it sits at the back can u not by pass the fuel lines? i sure u can do it

I left mine on there purely cos I couldn't be arsed to take it out and find new lines etc lol

The gauge is designed for testing the fuel pressure of fuel injection type systems not carburettors & not to be fitted permanently.

Andy - the accumalator is therte to smooth the pulses from the fuel pump. As the KE is a constant injection system it needs a smooth supply of fuel to it. The pulsed electornic injector by nature dampens out any pressure changes. It's the swirl pot in any Injected fuel tank which prevents fuel surge
BTW - i know where to plumb things, just want advise on the practical method to do it. Aeroquip will prob happen, but i'd like to get it running via less exotic methods first

Like to keep the weight down If you want to get it running on the cheap to start with, then the MK4 EFI lines is what you want
Fuel filter uses the same bracket, but mounts on the inner chassis rail

safechav yeah I know mate but I put a thread up and most people said under the bonnet permanently would be fine, I've had mine in there for a while now and had no probs or leaks at all...

I kept it for a number of reasons. One of which is that it cannot do any harm by being there , and as I did a blinding job of spraying it myself I thought it should be used. Also by keeping it, I get to use 2 more Aeroquip fittings....

So there was no practical reason for keepint then, just because your a tart and you have a bit of a fetish with aeroquip fittings yeah???
Mine is sprayed all nice blue aswell hence why i want it to stay, matches the fuel tank.....
Note the performence enhancing green plastic bag mod to the exhaust.....

You couldn't get one chromed because there is rubber and springs etc inside, it would melt. That's why I painted mine rather than get it powder coated with everything else.
