what a mess!

put a bigger battery in, too big, caught on the bonnet and burnt lots of earth wires.. most of them then burnt in to + wires too cant believe it ran like that for 4 month then started with a missfire at 5k.
so had dingy come over and take the multi plugs out cuz they were all corroded green and nasty! and the miss fire whent from 5k to 4k!!
So we started opening the loom up . . . . what a mess! even had the dash out to see how far it goes. lucky for me all the burnt wire is in the engine bay. but repaired all the bodged alarm fitted wires pay for an alarm to be fitted and they rush it that much they cant be bothered to insulate the joints! saved them all of 2 mins!

question for Damo, behind the battery there were too large multi plugs, one has the relay in the picture, dark green (ABS?) the other had no relay plugged in to it, whats it for?

Ouch sounds nasty mate.... Been there with the loom, though I didnt have an engine either so was a little easier for me
Regarding the relays.... erm dunno mate doubt they are for ABS tbh, they defo arent engine / ecu related.. could be for cooling fans? and heater blower?

the big green relay IS the twin speed relay for the radiator fans, there are a couple of other multiplug there, one is the ford alarm to bonnnet sounder (for the dead lock beeper) and the other, i cant honestly remember
