Can't make my mind about....
a front diff. After 1,5 years i'am bored from my 2wd EsCos so i decided
to take it from the road and built a complete new car (so parts are for sale-->rs500t4, rs500 head, 7,4:1 complete block, BW T5, greys, swedish style inlet, etc-->not a for sale thread), which includes converting back to 4x4. I'am looking for around 450bhp and much torque as possible from a t38 and the appendant spec. So now i'am irresolute because i don't know which diff to buy. what is on the market except the quaife products, what bhp/torque can it handle and on what terms (price). don't know what will be in the future so maybe buy a diff what is stronger than that what i need now due i don't want to buy twice...
someone got an idea?!?
best regards and sorry for my english

if your looking for more torque than BHP and your going for 450hp then i would uprate your front diff yes!
im going for an uprated ATB, Thick wall Casing and ally plate and my current setup is no where near as much as what you want
this is just my opinion others will say that standard will be ok but i like to be safe
hope that helps

think personally if moeny is no option then yes run a thickwall uprated diff and cover, BUT like me i haven't got 2k to spend just on a front diff at the mo.. i will be running a std item with a diff plate (plate was about £50 i think?) ... i have heard of plenty of people running that and it coping with even big power builds.. And IMO even if it does break a new one is cheap enough to replace while you save for a uprated item anyway ... thats just my 2 pence worth

thx guys
so you think a (for example) quaife thick wall casing with atb is strong enough? can the oem CWP handle the torque/power? was thinking at a 7,5" R&D or something like that...
@Gatecrasher
the question was not if to use an uprated diff, the question was which one
but it helps, thx
any other opinions?

7" R&D would be a good choice if you can find one think thats what Martin Hadland is running and i know Kev Sharp ran one in his 10 second Escos after splitting a Quaife casing.

might be worth contacting tim finch, aka cosworth rallysport on here, when I was after a uprated front diff he had a R&D 7" front diff for around £1400
I bought a ford 909 thickwalled diff (open diff, std ratios) off him for just under £900 , and it is perfect. He will be able to help you out.
