Some more info for you here!

http://www.mwstewart.co.uk/index.php...s_zetec_engine

With you mentioning that its for a mondeo/focus and given that the US also has this engine. When you then consider the exchange rate between here and the States £ for £ its certainly a route worth considering.

I'd say it doesn't really matter as to turbocharge you're changing the rods and pistons (at least you should be) so you can do what you want - they all fit to the Zetec crank no matter what engine year.

Of course there are other things to consider like what car you want to mount it in. (avoid extra costs of having mounts made to suit)

If you wanted to build a monster then the CGI block is the strongest.

Edit: to clarify the rods and pistons that Fudge has specced will fit any Zetec of that bore. Later rods and pistons will fit an early Zetec. Start mixing later rods with early spec pistons and you'll be in trouble.

There is a length difference of about 3mm between the different rods, which is taken care of by pistons utilising different deck heights.

I know all this becauuse I speccup up a set of Arias myself for a 2.1 ZVH.

Eagle rods, Arias pistons, lightened knife edged crank, Puma Race head, 0.48 housing and my adaptors that I developed. I wanted to get it in the green Onion but it's quite rotten...now looking for a 7-style project to put it into.

Here's some random pics:

It currently sits in the workarea, gets turned over now an again by hand...

It will run...one day...

LOl yeah it's a pity it has nothing to go in. I've been more interested in the Evo since getting it, the Orion was a great laff but FWD just isn't fun any more. I think a Caterham with a ZVH would be really good though - so thats the plan. I have to sell the evo first though.

Tell beardy he'll have his tripod back soon!

And tell him to send me the copy of FF with the Nurburgring write up in it, and a nice print of any pics with me at the wheel - otherwise I'll put his tripod on ebay and spend the money bashing a tambering while drinking JD Barrel with a bunch of old people.
