Default Cossy Wheel Bearings

What are the price per corner.

Need to do all 4.

Are fords the best option?

Or are all bearings made by the same company?

So a motor factor would be the best?

Prices?

Cheers

The proper ford ones are SKF if memory serves.

I was lucky enough to get a full set of SKF's from a motor factors. They were Q&H supplied bearings I think, and we just opened the boxes to check the part numbers on the actual bearings with genuine ford ones.

One of the QH ones was INA not SKF, so they ordered me antoher and it was an SKF

I think they're about Ł30 each

Hope this helps!

Neil.

Burtons have them for
Ł36.26 for a front kit (2wd) - BRT909
Ł35 for a rear kit (4x4) - BRT910
Ł38.95 from a front kit (4x4) - BRT911

Not sure what the rear 2wd ones are ?:

Sounds cheap, I am sure a "kit" means one wheel only though, as that's what I remember seeing in their catalogue.

I need a n/s front one for the 2wd sapph, let me know how you get on

A kit comes as a kit.... with everything ready to fit. There is nothing missing and nothing more to buy. Whats the point of selling you a bearing without a race to fit it in

Just checking Tony.

As alot of Motor factor kits are the same as Ford items but often little extra bits are missing which you get with the ford kits

Will order up some SKF ones from a motor factors then

Unless you have another source with your wealth of knowledge?

As above... Ford make f all these days

Motor factors will be fine just check and open them first to look for SKF on the side.

I work in the printing industry (which includes point of sale packaging) and you would be amazed at what products are identical but go into different packaging just to attract a higher price

Do 500 track miles on slicks and you'll see plenty of wear in a cossie wheel bearing ! Ford are a complete rip off for these, use a factors kits , as already mentioned most are SKF anyway , use a good quality grease and you can see a lot of mileage out of these , even on track , i mix mine with K-tec and so far so good !!

take a sample to a bearing speaialist, they will sort u out with the full kit for a lot less than ford or a motor factors. usually easier to get a trade discount too.

the shop i go to does the lot, a bearing will generally come with seals. parallel bearings usually have the seal as part of it, taper bearings are seperate. a good stockist will have em & be able to match up with ur old one / part no

When i stripped the car it was completely stripped mate, every nut and bolt so putting brand new wheel bearings in after I had all my beams etc powder coated was just the sensible thing to do but the ones that were removed weren't fooked.
