Cooling system question????
Having just started using the car since rebuilding it over the last 7odd years.
So far only done around 40 miles whilst running the engine in, the car doesn't over heat at all and sits quite comfortably half way.
I have noticed when I turn it off that the hose just before the thermostat is bubbling a fair amount.
The cars has new hoses, new alloy rad, Waterpump and low temp thermostat. Am I missing something?
Having checked all hoses they're all getting hot as you'd expect so I can't see a blockage also pulled the vent pipe of the top of the housing the shift any last remaining air.
Any advice would be good

Which hose as there are 3 at the themostat?
Regardless, bubbling means air. Is the header tank cap on proper tight? No weeps/leaks anywhere?
Edit: was the system bled properly in the first place?

Valid point! The main rad hose to thermostat.
Header tank and cap are both brand new items and tight!
This is my reckoning Brigg an air lock but for some reason (if it is) can't shift it. Was originally run up to temp with cap off and once cooled refitted etc, heaters blowing hot as they should, tried to purge with the top thermostat hose off too

Does sound like you've covered bases. When you bled it, was the car relatively flat? I have known air to get trapped in the heater matrix when the cars been parked at a funny angle and this can be an arse to push out. Usually not too troublesome on Escorts, but not impossible...

You're after a "loom" in that case. Either way I'd suggest you start a new post in the Wanted section (need to be a gold member) rather than posting all over technical queries from others
