Is the fan sealed tightly against the rad?

Hi,

can you please describe what you mean? I’ve just fitted it with the fan fitting kit that you order with it?

From EX Auto sparks, I take it this is a new Electric Fan fitted, are you certain it working the correct way round....ie... Air flowing from outside through the Rad to engine, your Fan motor for certain will be "Perminant magnetic" type, so reversing the 2 wires it will revers the Air Flow...just a thought . Pete.

Hi thanks for the replies, it is a new slim line fan and I have checked it’s blowing the right way, couple of my friends have said it could be a air lock? It seems to be when driving and standing still?

It's overheating, as the fan should never come on whilst in motion.

As to the cause, it's possible this could be an air lock.

Is the rad and bottom and top hose hot when this happens?

Hi Martin,

to be be honest I don’t really know it all seemed very hot at the time, unfortunately I’m working away now all week and flying to Spain Saturday so I’ll have to investigate that further when i get back, what would that indicate if the top is warm but the bottom isn’t?

Thanks

If they are not both hot it indicates a circulation issue.
