Default ANOTHER KA engine swap. KA 1.3 to 1.6!!!!

Yes....another guy needing advice on a KA engine swap.

I looked at the threads and this swap has always been mentioned.... but never in detail.

Swapping the KA 1.3 facelift engine......putting a 1.6 Sport KA or Street KA engine in.

Im looking for an easy swap. Im guessing all the mounts etc are the same?

can someone with a bit more knowledge than me, give me advice on this?

Will the engine drop straight in? any complications i need to know?

Thank you in advance.

May I ask why you wish to stick with the hopeless, thirsty, gutless old Endura engine? Far better conversions around, and not that tricky either.

The 1.6 in the street/sport ka is a SOHC rocam engine, the duratec/zetec (same engine just badged differently) is found in Fiestas, focus's etc which can be fitted but would probably give a bit of a headache to do. The Rocam is certainly not fast, but a big improvement over the 1.3 endura found in a normal ka.

I'd have thought your best bet would be to drop in a 1.7 puma lump.

1.8-2.0 zetec is easier than a puma lump.

see im tempted just to go with the 1.6 rocam .....just for ease...... zetec or puma do sound nice though..... but wouldnt they majorly effect the handling round corners etc? dont want to spend masses of money ..... not as if its a fiesta with a puma engine :P

Puma engines are very light, around 80kg all in.

Complete waste of time and money, I have had a 1.6 sportka for a few years now, i really wouldnt bother going to the trouble of an engine conversion just to fit that engine it simply isnt worth it, zetec or zetec se yes, rocam NO!
