Default Fuel cell fabrication - where from?

Greetings peeps,

Looking to have an alloy tank make for my P100 Cos. Can anyone recommend somebody or company?

I'm looking to have one made up to suit my build, preferably with an internal swirl if that's possible. I have the original tank that can be used as a pattern, local ideally (Southampton area).

Cheers

Can you buy cells with internal swirls or do they have to be external?

My original plan was tank to std cos pump to swirl to 044 obviously with a fuel filter. But if I can have a tank made with an internal swirl would save me some space under the tub.

That is far from ideal, an 044 should be gravity fed

The pump on top of the stack should be level or lower than the outlets on the swirl pot

It will suck fuel but it's not advised to run them in that way. I would personally keep all the pumps on the same plane as the swirl pot, I'd also change the forged 90 degree aeroquip bends for swept ones.

Nice car though and I don't expect that's the finished fuel system so I'm sure you planned to tidy it up a bit

hi this photo was taken at the time the car was being dummy built they were put in there as to give a ruff idea on space . all 3 pumps sit on boot floor at same level as fuel swirl pot out lets . in an ideal world the pumps would be better under car as they then would be lower down . but i want them inside car . everything must fit under the firewall .

thanks steven

Spencer at SM fabrications, or really there are any multitude of alloy fabricators around the country.

Simplest design is where you have a sump built onto the bottom of the tank, along with baffles or foam inside. This will negate the need for an external swirl tank for all but 99% of applications.
It means a neater install, less pumps, less wiring...less complication all round. Keep it simple nearly always works best.

I would also recommend an access panel so you can remove the foam and clean/inspect the tank as required.
