Hi guys I'm new the the forum I've got a 1999 1.8 deisel turbo focus and Ive just started to here a Whineing noice with the car standing still in neutral or driving the more you rev the more the noice makes hope some 1 can help cheers focushembo

Could be any number of things, without more information or actually hearing it we wont know what it is for sure.

Id put money on it being the altenator bearings!
When its running and making a noise listen close to where the noise is coming from and you'll soon find out what it is!

Does the Noise Stop when the Clutch pedal is pushed down,
If so it could be the Clutch Release Bearing,

sometimes I get a wining noise in my car ..... normally its my wife when we are in a hurry.......... if v man has a solution I'd realy like it...

On a Focus it could be the alternator bearing or v belt tensioner on its way out. Excessive tolerances cause lateral forces to the v belt which is why it starts to squeal, often mistaken for the whining of a bearing.

Try sprinkling baby powder or talcum powder on the belt while the engine is running. Should stop it for a while.
