Default Whining Noise when running above 15PSi

When running my Cabbie RS I get a loud whining noise coming from the front when running above 15psi. I've checked all boost pipes etc and can't find anything wrong. It has been mentioned that my Turbo could have oil starvation when boosting above 15PSi could this be the cause I am running a standard new Oil Pump which is running good pressure. Do I need to upgrade to a better oil pump when running above a certain PSi.

Cheers
Dave

Im not sure, but dont turbo's "whistle" when they are out of balance ?, the turbo you have may not be balanced 100%, and may be fine at say 10psi, but that extra few psi you are running may be pushing it a bit too hard and therefore you get a whistling kind of noise.

I may be wrong, just an idea.

Your not the first person to have said that. I might have to take it back to where it was rebuilt and get them to check it.

If your oil pressure is good then don't worry. It will have no effect on what boost you run. I use a standard oil pump with a huge oil cooler and near 29psi boost, no probs.

Is it a standard turbo? I had a stage 2, and a stage 3 T3 that screamed really loudly at high boost, was just the air going through the compressor housing.

ive got two rs turbos.
ones got a standard turbo, panel filter and 12psi,
the other has got a stage 3 turbo and 24psi.
the standard one still whistles (excuse my spelling, its shite) although it whistled more with a cone fillter on it.
the stage three sounds much much louder.
i thought it was just the air going through the compresor housing that makes the noise,

The turbo is a hybrid with a .48 housing and 360 bearing.

It pulls like a train just make the noise. Might get it checked out anyway just to be safe.
