Default Zetec building crank wont turn

Did a dummy run of assembling the bottom end of my ZVH today, and the crank is really tight (ie need to swing on it with a long bar to get it to turn) with the main caps just nipped up, new std size bearings and all new bolts etc.
Is it more likely that the crank is bent or that the caps are from another block? The caps weren't bolted up when I picked the block up and the crank was wrapped up in a curtain
Ta if anyone can help

if the mains are not in original position its probably nipping on the crank mate.

Checked all the clearances with plastiguage and they were all sound, so put it together with a load of graphogen and its perfect now! No tightness anywhere, no grinding noises and the end float is within tolerances so its all good
I must have left some grit or other shite under the shells or summat?
Roll on getting the head done and I might hear it running before crimbo

Cheers for the replies lads

If you ever need anything checking try James Engineering on the Durley Industrial estate.
