I think this would all depend on if you where using two fuel regulators!!!

Would it not of been better to run one large line from the two pumps at the rear of the car because now if you have one pump fail, one rail will be starved of fuel would it not???

The above would be the best idea, at least it is a safeguard.
If you are NOT linking then you will of course need a gauge for each one you want to read the pressure of.

To be completely honest fuel pumps tend to fail more due to age more than anything else, other than that they can be let down & not perform as well thanks to old crap wiring.

Not 100% sure on what cossie pumps run out at but I believe its recommended that when you go stage 3 330bhp you upgrade to an 044 pump, and then you double up on the 044s when over the 500bhp mark.

I'm sure other people in the know will confirm or put me right on this!!

Running 2 pumps I would think just gives more flow for when the engine needs it ?

I doubt the pumps would be inline of each other though.

Some race cars I have seen run 2 pumps, sometimes for safety though so IF one failed then could still complete the stage or get back into the pits rather than have to retire.

In your case one 044 simply cannot supply the amount of fuel needed on full boost when 2 ofcourse will easily cope with it.

I should think its 2 pumps T'd together feeding one feed pipe.

How does the fuel rails on a 500 inlet join together ? I know the FPR as 2 inputs and 1 ouput iirc unlike the 2wd or 4wd fpr.

BTW What I've said is only a guess and not from experience so take that with a pinch of salt

The Regulator is at the end of the rail closest the engine then a tube goes from it to the second rail, then another tube comes out the bottom of the Regulator and pisses off somewhere?

Yeh I understand that bit, both the rails join at the reg and there is one return line iirc.

I was wondering how it splits the feed to the 2 rails ?

That will go back to the tank then.....

Jon....are you sure you've got two lines feeding the rails......how many lines run under your car - 2 or 3??

If indeed you have one pump per rail i would imagine that each rail would then go back to the single fuel regulator - i.e. line each side.

Otherwise the line in would feed one rail - then go through a pipe that would join the two rails together then at the end of the second rail that would return to the regulator!!

Only 1 gauge is needed if 1 reg fitted.

but as said above, best join both pumps.
