I've been offered a 3 door as px for the escort, its concorse aparently with 53,000 miles and totally standard including exhaust etc etc. He's wanting 11,500 for it but tbh i was thinking its worth more around the 10k mark

 

If it is spotless, has good clean history, completely original, i recon 11.5k isn't far off the mark.
I sold my 3dr 12mths ago spotless/concourse, a few mechanical mods stg 1, 30k mls for around that.

 

Impossible to say really until you see it. If he wants Ł11.5k for it then he's obviously prepared to come down a bit. If it is as described, id be starting at Ł10k first. It also depends on how much discount you would have given for a cash sale on your car. If say you would take Ł11,500 cash for yours, then offer him Ł11k at most, and then in effect you have got the 3 door for Ł10k. Then you can sell the 3 door to me for Ł10,100.

Having said that, can you REALLY get a true concours 3 door for around that money?

 

I was going to say 2k and his car against mine, just for the fact thats what i'd personnaly be happy at cause tbh what the fuck do i want with a buffty 3 door. I want to be out doing dounuts not polishing my fueltank

I've only had it up less than a week on pistonheads, i know its worth that cause its a nice straight honest car, fair do's there a few marks here and there but no rust on it and the underside is totally rot free. I hate px's as both people have to agree where as in a straight sale its easier imo

No offence but if end up getting it and decide to fully strip it cage it and make a track moster out of it then its my money and my car, it wont be wasted on me at all i'd use it for what its designed for DRIVING not putting on axle stands for people to admire my shinny pipe lol

Im not into this concours crap either to be honest but i do like to see a good clean unmessed car

Personaly i would say the 3 door was cheap if its as good as he says it is

 

Because thats just a pure guess on my part, other people could value this sort of car more accuratly than me, its been valued at 12k by the rsoc but all the past valuations on for sales adds have always been a couple of k more than the asking price

 

What it's worth to the RSOC and what it's worth to normal people are probably different though mate

the car is ex concours 52k original everything...not even had stage one....its the muts nuts............i (imho) think u would be better off selling urs and buying a 7k 3 door,and spending the rest on mods

 

im with pete here alps you dont like the escort cos its not as fast as your old saph so why get a realy slow 3 door and pay alot of cash for it just cos its realy clean and then spend a shit load more geting it to go how you want it to

 

But it's a good clean, straight car. I remember reading Alps say that if he got a 3dr, he would be keeping it for a long time.

i was at national day talking to neil callan on the carwise stand and the white 600 bhp 3 door was there and the bloke that used to use it for concorse noticed it was his old one and nearly cried and said whats he done this used to be a nice car to which i replied impruved it he walked off

I aint goig to put a cage in it and fuck it, i love 3 doors and thats why i would love an absolute minter. If i did get a bufty 1 i would leave it standard but use it in the summer. I also have use of my integra and my golf will be my track weapon so i have no need to put a cage in it.

As stoo said i would be keeping a 3 door for many years cause it is THE car for me, so i wont be fucking it.
