Default Fault with new car advice required.

10 week old focus diesel.

Taken into main dealer due to significant oil leak, and other problems - was booked in over a week in advance as I was on holiday rather than an emergency booking.

this was the 18th October.
The car is still with them and apart from saying we've cleaned it up. its on the ramp now. we're test driving it.. oh its still leaking....

im not any further forward with it.
I have concerns that the engine maybe fkd as in damaged rings or something else pressurising the crank case and causing leaks etc
but THEYRE the experts!

they've given me a hire car thats costing them money.(only after they had it over a week already and I moaned to ford HQ) but its not my car and i've done 3100 mile since the 18th NOT in the car that I want to be sitting in with its comforts and features!

im concerned when I do eventually get it back that i'll have continued issues with it (I think the oil was affecting the ESP and ABS as well as not running right)

now its a lease car not exactly my own but i specced it etc and usually takes about 8-12 weeks to get a new one out of ford so telling them to keep it is not really part of the equation.

any ideas where I can go or what to expect?

ford are absolutely shite mate, my friends now traded in his brand new focus because off all the trouble he had with his car, never fixing it, saying there was nothing wrong

yeah I was suspecting its a friday afternoon jobby!

its been okish for 7500 miles. just noticed too much dirt on the inside of the wheel a few weeks ok. looked like my old xr2 when it had a leaking crank shaft oil seal!

not alot I can do about it really. if I refuse it or anything like it will take a million weeks to get another to my spec. If it was actually my car things would be different, but as its not I can't really kick up too much of a fuss. just bit unsure if they can do anything to reassure me etc.

i.e. compression test reports etc

Heard this a lot recently from a few people about Fords in particular

There's normally ONE decent "mechanic" in a main dealers in my experience.

Unfortunately they pay peanuts.... [no offence to anyone working in a main dealer] but anyone with half a brain that's decent at what they do works for themselves or a firm that values them.

It REALLY makes me seethe sometimes when a customer buying a car looks at a service record and says "Oh, it's not main dealer History..."

I'd rather have someone I trust service a car than some thick twat that hasn't got a clue about anything except ordering more jewellery from Argos.
