3 Door Side Window Seals ???????????
Hi All, Need some help with my 3 Door... Can i take out the side windows for a paint job without killing the seals cos i cant find them anywhere?????????????????
Would n't you need some proper trim rubber some where in the process.
I have the same problem. If you could give more specific details I would appreciate it.
I can't help feeling that there must be someone that makes replacement window trims, like with the front windscreen. Maybe the reason is because people just bond them in as you said.

As fitted by ford they were cliped in but the window bond would often squeeze out and grab the trim. You will only find out while trying to remove them and its the to late.
If the window has ever been replace or removed and refited then quite often the clips are not used by windscreen companys and the trim will be fully bonded with the glass.
remove by useing oscilating screen cutter from the inside although you will probably need to remove the trim so as you don't damage it.
If the outer trim is already out then a cheese wire cutter can be used. But this can do even more damage to inner trims and outer paintwork in in-experianced hands
Front and rear screens are replace more often and use a rubber seal which is mass produced on rolls and cut to length. The side moulding is just that a moulding and as such only made by ford for 3 drs (not a very big market)

I just had this done... today! My car was painted and all the glass taken out, after the outter trim was removed from the side glass the silicone/sealer that bonds the glass to the body needs to be cut out, this will allow the glass to be removed from the body. Once the glass is out the metal clips that hold the outter trim in place (they also center the glass in the opening) can then also be removed. Then the excess silicone/sealer can be removed in preperation for the glass to be reinstalled after paint.
As mentioned above the front/rear glass has to be cut out and the replacement rubber seals come in a big roll and is cut to fit.
