Default Chartering a plane...

Was someone on here involved in this business?

Some mates and I are looking at what is probably a really stupid idea at present, and chartering a jet to take about 100-150 of our closest chums to Las Vegas. Needs to be able to fly from Glasgow or Edinburgh, and interested in how the costs compare to just flying on a regular plane.

Speak to my mate Andy. He is the private jet manager for London city but arranges anything to and from anywhere.

I would imagine you could easily put 100 grand on your 30 grand guess. (each way)

You can get him on andy@air1aircharter.co.uk

He will sort you out or shatter your dreams!!!

That's only Ł300 a head for 100 of us, which is probably cheaper than scheduled flights. If we can get 150 we'll be quids in and it's got to be way cooler to use our "own" plane!!!!

Anyone know where I can get a firm quote from? I tried Google but that only brought up little planes from 8 to 30 seaters.

It gets even more expensive when you take into account how long you spend there time wise.

The plane aint gonna wait for you so you have to take positioning costs into account.

I think it works out cheaper if you get a bigger plane with more people than a small jet. From what I recall talking to my mate a private jet return to East Coast USA is around the Ł125,000 mark. That may have been one way.

I am sure Andy will get you a quote quick.

Does Glasgow or Edinburgh airport handle big enough planes? I think ive been into Edinburgh on a 757 which will go across the pond. Not sure if it would make it to Las Vegas non stop???

Not surprised, you don't spend a few million on a plane to expect Ł20 profit

the fuel alone just to get there will cost minimum 50k

then you have landing / ramp fees for both scotland and vegas then you have crew costs,

because it will be more than a 12 hour flight also the plane will have to change crew somewhere on the way also so thats 2 lots of crew costs plus maybe more landing fees

a lot of a scheduled flights money is made in first and business class thats why the e class is cheapish, to get to vegas in 1st youre talking minimum 3k

hope this helps
