Default zetec turbo

ok so you've got your 2.1 full zetec turbo..
and as i'm not very mechanically minded..
what gearbox do you use? i'm thinking it would be one from a zetec, like an rs1800 for example?
if so.. would it be possible to put an LSD in one?

any help, or "you're an idiot! " comments welcome

cheers. Jay.

Dependant on your intended power and how reliable you want it to be.

to be honest, i'd want the most reliable GB with LSD, without spending an absolute fortune! (yeah i know if you want the best you have to pay for it ) just thinking that maybe it'd be a little to much to have anything excessively expensive..

Quaife make a diff for any of the ford FWD gearboxes so your ok on that front..

with regard which box you choose, well that depends on the power you want to put through it.?

im gonna run uprated IB5 from CTS or JamSport wiv quaife diff, AP 220mm clutch on a 1800 zetec flywheel wiv 2 stage boost so i dont kill it to fast as im aimin for 400bhp but around 250 on low boost, hope this helps?

o n when i get fed up wiv replacin the IB5 cos it will break im goin for either a MT box or ST170 6 speed but fit the engine in the back so room is no issue and rwd grip and excellent weight distribution comes into play haha

putttin the engine in the back of fiesta will only give you straight line grip, it will not corner lol

and space isnt an issue, you just need new mounts , and the mtx75 lowers the engine slightly giving lower centre of gravinty

my cars sittin wiv the sump 2 inches above the floor as it is lol! n who said anythin bout cornering? the proof that puttin it in the back comes from a curtain mk1 runnin its cvh in the boot, the difference in timings amazing! altho im stil not sure how ya work out it wont handle better? front shocks wil b rated for not havin a engine over them, a anti surge fuel tank wiil be fitted along wiv charge cooler tank and rad not forgettin the original but uprated rad wiv electric water pump so there b plenty of weight over the wheels for grip, its all about gettin the shocks setup right and i promise it wil handle better due to centre of grav and the fact that rwd means better comitment into bends on throttle does it not?

anyways i dont care cos im gonna do it jus cos i wanna lol!

ps if u sit the engine lower u then should raise ur car higher to stop ya cv's blowing every time u drive it! ok u can make small shafts which wil help but stil wil kill cv's! its always down to geometry!
