Default 2.0 zetec power figures

Can anyone thats rollingroaded there 2.0 N/A Zetec fiesta post there figures, I got mine done about a year or so ago. I made 130bhp with a hunting idle and a badly placed airfilter. I hope to have around 150bhp now but am interested in what everyone elses has made, partically torque figures

An internally standard 2.0 ZETEC will make 165ish BHP if allowed to breath properly. You will be lucky to get past 150 bhp (even with an aftermarket ECU etc) with the original inlet manifold as it is restricitve

Do a google for Dunnell, they are the experts.

Mines did 188 bhp and 156ibs/ft at 6300 rpm, since then fitted the throttle position sensor and rev limiter raised to 7300, so maybe 195+ bhp

Bearing in mind its running carburettors and other parts as well, but is normally aspirated and does go well, embaressses so called bigger BHP cars sometimes

What carbs do you have? What ECU? Cams etc?

Use twin 45 Delortos , with 36mm chokes,

Stage 2 Kent Cams with vernier pulleys on both cams, If i had got stage 3 cams I would have needed solid lifters and uprated valve springs

Weber Alpha 3D engine management with throttle position sensor and 32 degreees ignition advance on full throttle with a rev limiter of 7300 rpm

Andy Mackie spec ported head

Standard bottom end , but rebuilt with Fiesta EFi flywheel , much lighter than the 1800 zetec and 4 paddle clutch

Personally I think this is the real figure, with a basic standard bottom end its difficult to break 200 bhp

Personally Id have to change the compression ratio and balance the bottom end before it would see more power

The car is regularly set up and no expense is spared in the maintenance of the car

As I said it has been known to beat bigger BHP cars around circuits and at a recent regional day was quickest round a sprint circuit until being beaten on the last session, were I beat a lot of quicker cars over 3 flying laps

Heres some in car footage around Kames circuit in Muirkirk Scotland

I was thinking to torque not BHP. You should be above 170 lbs/ft. You are possible losing it because you are forced to use a short inlet manifold.

Good to see some ZETEC power being used in anger!!!!

Thought about what you said mate and I looked out the rolling road graph from the last time I was there

188 BHP at 6380 rpm and 166 Ibs/ft torue at 4700 rpm

Ill get it checked again in February before starting to do track days again

It is a very short manifold , only 60mm and it only has 20mm trumpets to clear the bulkhead on the Fiesta, it is quite tight, cant even get filters or socks on the carbs

What sort of conversions do you do , is it all mainly old skool stuff, MK1 /Mk2 escorts etc...

I have been studying the ZETEC for 5 odd years now, got a good idea of what is what with it. I am trying to finish putitng a ZETEC into my Mk 1 Escort, but life gets in the way!! When I first started there were probably less than 20 ZETEC'd Mk 1/2 Escorts, now there are hundreds. The engine side is easy, it is all the body work.
