Default scratch/swirl removal

Anybody know what the best way to get rid of swirls scratches is? I gave my car a wash/polish today and when I was working on the roof I noticed that I have hundreds of light scratches on the roof, they aren't deep, but there's loads of them, and I'm a bit puzzled at how they got there, could claying without enough lube have done it? What would work to remoce them (and annoying swirl marks)? Poorboys blackhole? I do the 2 bucket method, wash mitt, autoglym shapoo and ultra deep shine, didn'r clay it today though, and I don't use a machine polish. Cheers for any help people.

autoglym rapid detailer. There's a blacklight but there's also blackhole (google it).

your best working with a wet surface as well as the detailer, the same goes for compounding, although you will need to use a DA.

from my own experiance if you use the 3 stage megs you will get light marks off the paint, if you havent used enough lube when claying then you may well have created some of the marks also known as marring.Swirls are ushually caused by incorrect washing and polishing in circles.
IMO the way to get rid of them properly to leave the finish on the site i gave you is to machine polish, that was only a one stage polish with a finishing polish then wax to get rid of them swirls and light scratches

hope this helps

Dont matter how good your wash technique is you will always inflict swirls, you can reduce them with a safe wash techniqiue,if you want it perfect you need to use a rotary or da and remove a micron or two, but they will come back in time

Poorboys blackhole just contains alot of fillers for dark cars and works similar to ag srp. Your better off getting a good machine polish to remove them rather than covering them up

My cossie had light swirls all over when i got it but the paint had been really well looked after, it needed a light cutting compound and then a couple of coats of decent wax and i removed probably 95% of them .

As above, poorboys black hole is good as filling in swirl marks but to get rid of them then the only way is with a machine polish.

the only real way of getting rid of them mate is with a megs G220 polisher
and using megs 80# and 83# with a mixture of 6" buff/polish pads. you aint
got much hope/chance by hand and as said black hole is just a polish also use poorboys S S R 1 or for really bad swirls/scratches S S R 3

Meguires ultimate compound and a DA work wonders. Clas Ohlsson (if thats how you spell it) do a good DA for £40 if you dont have one.
