Default Cheap Detail Advice

Hello there. First Time posting here so take it easy on me! Last year i tcut and waxed my car (91 XR4x4 in Radiant Red) which was the first time i had ever done such a thing! the feeling of Pride after i had finished was amazing but unfortunatly while doing the work i pulled my back which im pretty sure will never be the same again! but hey my car is worth it.

Basically i want to do the same thing again but more of a detail really but being poor trying to pay off debts and save for a house i dont have the money to throw at a rotory style polishing thing and loads of expensive products so i was wondering is there a way i can get a decent quality finish on a budget or is tcut and wax the best bet for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also i wondered if there were any courses anywhere to do car detailing as its something that really quite interests me and would love to learn to do it possibly proffesionally in the future!

Sorry for the long ramble!

Thanks muchly in advance

On a tight budget, stick to hand polishing and buy yourself the following as well:

-Poorboys black hole glaze
-Carlack 68 Sealant
-Collinite 476s
-Poorboys Natty's Blue
-Zaino Z6
-Sonus Der Wunder drying towel
-Sonus Der Wunder polishing towel
-Sonus Der Wunder buffing towel
-Small sponge wax applicator

All available from cleanyourcar.co.uk

That's quite a shopping list, but will be worth it and once you've got that, it'll keep consumables down. Using good quality towels and applicators is as important as using good quality polishes and waxes. They'll last a long time too.

erm i dont think so. I just now know how to position myself when doing the car now so i can avoid further injury. I shall always work as long as i have the ability. Im 25 now and have held jobs consistantly since i was 17 and have never claimed any kind of benifit! I pay my own way and dont believe I need to claim for owt unless i am told I have to. Just so happened i did my back in while cleaning the car but it could easily have been done at work lugging 50kg Steel Bases and Lighting and sound equipment. Anyways thanks for the advice guys that is reet helpful. Hoping to get a rotary polisher for my birthday then i can get down the scrappy and get a fair few panals to learn and practice. But hand detailing is the way forward for me at the moment. ill post some piccys up when i get round to cleaning the car!

In a totally different league.

I use a leaf blower to blow the majority of the water off the body and out of all the nooks and crannies as well. Would like one of those proper hot air car driers though. May have to invest in one soon.
