just read a few pb threads and they get some results, but people stil want to see older or bad condition cars done to prove results are possible for us mere mortals.
these are two pics to show what a first timer can achieve.
its my mk1 escort and was flat as a pancake and years of industrial grime deep in the paint.
what do you thinki have more
here are two bad to good pics.

lads ,
bought a dual action rotary polisher for the price of one good valet and had a go.As a beginner i had no experience with a machine ,only hand polishing/waxing.so when i bought the mk1 i thought it needed painting it was so bad so i practiced on it so to speak as i didnt care if i damaged the finish.i would be repainting anyway.
Well it seems i didnt have to paint it after all(for the moment anyway)
I used a compound i got from local factors and wet polished it,very messy but brought paint back to life, then gave it a simple coat of meguairs and job done.
i watched a few videos online on the meguairs g220 and read topics like polished bliss for tips (thks by the way lads)
as i found it

Before
car just home and after a wash !!!!

roof , car was stored in a tile warehouse

mexico wings, worth a few bob these days but not like this

you can just see the crap deep in the paint

sad , sad , sad

During

After

have done about four other cars since and results are as goog if not better as i had a donor to practice on and make any mistakes.hard to damage paint with a da tho and thats why i got that type.
cheers
