Question flaking laquer?

having a problem with flaking laquer on my car just wondering if there is anything tht can be done to solve this flaky prob?.
i was thinking a very light wet and dry paper and giving it a mellow rub down then a good old polish-it might just make it worse??stupid cars

i have a small patch on my granada, only the size of a 2p coin, what i did was got some of the misses nail varnish and applied it the the area, ya see it is clear laquer so it works fine just to stop it gettin worse but only a kind of temp fix, i wouldn't do it if you have big areas peeling. although it will stop it until ya get it painted.

I had this on a old Scorpio. Started as the size of my thumbnail, and even though I'd done the temporary repair with some clear laquer, it was already too late and it just spread across the boot and up the 'C' pillar. I didn't bother repainting it as it was only my daily runner at the time.

Total panel respray is the only proper solution here mate I'm afraid.
