Dont know what sites you've been going to but any decent Bit Torrent forum where you register is 100% free of spyware & other harmful junk as you put it. I'm Admin on my own site and a moderator on 2 other torrent sites and they're totally clean and so is all the other torrent sites I'm know on.

Bet you found these spyware riddled site searching bit torrent on google Any reputable BT site you wont find by searching for on google. You just havent been looking in the right places

DanRSturbo: Most forums now members have to make a certain amount of posts before they can see the torrent sections. So u just cant go on a forum and see what torrents they have. This site here http://www.bluetack.co.uk is dedicated to p2p users protection where they have an app called protowall that will block the ip numbers of unwanted people from connecting to your pc. This site also has a script for a website which will block these ip numbers from entering a site. The blocklist with these apps is updated daily. Forums are the safest way to download these days and open sites like the 2 posted above by snow are the type targetted by the MPAA & RIAA. And it's not the sites they go after but the trackers the torrents are hosted on. You do know that .torrents are not illegal the same as having nzb's on your pc isnt either

Surely the police have better things to do with there time then browse round hundreds of torrent sites looking for illegal downloaders It's the movie companies that will hire a third party to do all there snooping for them and report back with ip numbers then they'll send a cease and desist email to your isp who will then forward it onto you. In my 3 years of using bit torrents I have never had any bother. Check out the app protowall and you'll be shocked of who it blocks and not even when ur downloading

How can you protect p2p users that are blatantly breaking copyright laws ? A .torrent file is useless unless you have the client, therefore not illegal, running the torrent however is, or did I miss something when I had a cease and disist order some time ago ? Which I quite easily got around
