I dont think it "pisses" on it, gameplay and graphics i would actually say GT5 is better, however modding/customising/ sound of cars then forza is certainly better in this area, i still wouldn't swop over from GT5 though we played the top gear track back to back today with GT5 and forza and decided in the end to play fifa

 

Agreed, you cannot match GT5 for graphics/physics, but you cannot do a rs500 with ill fitting compomotives and a pee shooter exhaust on GT5 such a shame!!!

what you have to think GT5 is made in japan which is full of the most anal people known to man, also the company who makes it is owned, by a racing driver who is just into cars in a massive way.

then you look at forza which is made in a board room!!, lets cover every one, but not do it right,all polyphony do it work on GT5, its all they do!

I love racing games, proper racing games I cannot be fucked with most of the shit out there is so bad it is scary, Forza is not bad its is close they are making the effort, but miles away, if you ask a racing driver which they would they use you will find GT5 is they only game they would use....


saying that, it has massive short falls, forza has so many options, which i have found have no real effect, but for the average gamer forza is better, Mr average would choose Forsa over Gt5 and they know it, you can be to anal and it will not help sales, but i don't think they give a shit!!

all I know GT5 will not be removed from my play station for some time!

 

You couldn't be more wrong imo.

No brake upgrades.
Engine upgrades done in stages as opposed to individual parts. (cams, valves, ignition)
Wheel sizes do not change, which affects handling in forza. (wheel diameter and width)
Dynamic tyre walls in forza that flex in turns, larger profile tyres giving more roll.
Tire pressures? not in GT5
Rolling starts to a race?
There is nothing anal about GT5. Its all very basic. A fun game, but no way a "simulator"


Simulators are like R Factor and GTR, where even the amount of fuel in your tank can affect lap times. Having to manually start your engine before warm up and qualifying. Adjustable rev limiters, 3 section tire temperatures, water temp, oil temp etc etc..... Thats a simulator.

 

I'm looking forward to having a good shot of Forza 4 at some point, because I really didn't like the F3 driving experience... far too arcadey IMO.

That's where GT5 scores highly for me, the actual way the car drives using a basic controller is far more realistic on GT games traditionally, however, if they've addressed this with F4 then I could be sorely tempted to get involved to benefit from the increased depth in other areas of the game where GT5 has sadly failed to live up to my expectations given the years of delay we went through being promised it would all be 'right' come release day.

meaning less,if you don't get the basics right, when I drive a car in GT5 it handles like I would expect even down to model, I was doing a shuffle race and it came to me catching up to WRX and I was driving a 22b and the way he could take the racing line and the way I could was perfect.


They have just got it right!!!

 

gt5 was a big dissapointment to me after being a massive gt fan i guess it just wasnt worth the wait, its very pretty yes but irrespective of what you say above the cars just dont drive right, there is not enough adjustment to get them handling right, forza 3 pipped gt5 , forza 4 for me has blown gt5 out of the water! as for saying the adjustments on forza make little to no difference i say wtf??? they make a huge difference i suggest johnny you spend a little more time playing forza instead of playing with other swingers lol (just jelous really)

Bought a kit for the Subaru "ken block style" same mods as mine just set up differently. His one was like it was driving on ice. Loved it. Mine was like driving a brick.

I can't set cars up for shit! (lower, wider, DONE)

 

Speaking of which, if there are any tuning beginners. I recommend "ForzaDroid" on good smart phones or "forzatune" on iphone
Good place to start then make adjustments depending on your driving style.

GT5 perhaps can be awarded the best graphics for scenery, but not for gameplay, not for car graphics and certainly not for car selection, I mean for fuck sake half of your lots argument for graphics is based on 200 cars, half of which are shit! Whats the excuse for the 600-800 imported cars from GT4????? some of which have been modeled from AUTOART models!!!!!!
On that fact alone GT5 loses out to Forza.
I was a die hard GT fan, having every single one and clocking up well over 1000 days of playing on the game clock.
However, and i guess this is why this argument will never be settled, IMO Forza is better.

All this compare to GT5 cracks me up. All Forzas and GT5 are good GAMES but FFS. Get a grip THEY ARE GAMES most people play with a controller! Do you fucking drive your real car with a controller as well?

Hmmm, it was a massive build up, but thought the game was finished, the physics are perfect, the graphics on tracks is the best, were it disappointed on the day of release for a major amount of cars were from gt4 and not as much tracks as i would like and the online needed tweaking.

what you got to remember the people who make Gt5 will take weeks and weeks just to get a prem care into the system as they are so anal, you have seen them, the insides are just perfect

I think the realisation that GT5 is a very disappointing game means you have to come on here and try and tell us all that forza is rubbish. Honestly, you are wasting your time.

 

All I can say is gt blinkers!! . I bought a ps3 just for gt5 and it was a right let down, sold it after a couple of weeks. Gt5 is no better than forza 4, but then forza 4 didnt take 5 years to make. Standard cars? more like ripped straight from gt4 lol whats all that about? anal my arse.

I like to think I can say Forza 4 is better than GT5 IMO because I own both. As opposed to making my decision about a game based on which console its released on.

 

i just dont get why they stick shit cars in games... Scions ? Volvos? Saabs ? nobodys gonna pick them lol.. and GT isnt even that good... Forza3 had me hooked for days on end.. the gameplay and simulation is SO much better on Forza than GT... only thing i dislike on forza is when you drive onto the grass, it pulls you onto it...

Ok my son stated forza4 without me can we now import my garage and money from 3 to 4 still if so how thanks.

 

Just had a look online and it looks like the only way you can do it is to delete your save and start again.
