im currently running 512 ram and want to upgrade but not sure as to get another 512 or to add a gig so ive got a gig and a half any ideas

neither, id get 2 sticks of a gig, to make 2 gigs.
No point filling up your precious ram slots with weedy little 512 jobs if you want to upgrade to even more at a later date you'd be throwing the 512's in the bin to make room for bigger sticks.

Just an idea, but 2 gigs you would notice a huge improvement

mate im just wanting to do my ram cause ill be getting a new comp next mines a year and a hafl now so a year to go but ill think about it whats the price of ram these days

depends on the spec of your bourd, is it 184pin or 240pin? what speeds does it support?, how many slots does your motherbourd have? as if theres only two you can't put a gig and 512 in they have to match.

if you have 184 pin ram seriously dont bother with 1 gig modules as its so expensive now .. get another mobo that supports ddr2 and its half the price...

pc3200 you can buy 1 gig sticks in that format, so do what i said and get 2 gigs

when i looked into this last month the prices were alot higher
hence my wanting to get a new mobo to use ddr2 as it was alot cheaper ..

found this today...

yeah that is a good price but to be honest 80 is still a bargain, so its up to him who he orders from, ive never had a problem with Ebuyer personally thats why it was my first port of call
