ok .. so , older mobo ,will an 8X agp work or does it need to be a 4X agp?

Id think it would work............... is the card thats in it now definatly 4x?
Anyway there wont be a significant difference between the two anyway

 

had an agrument .. thats what i said .. it should work although would be a bit slower

 

i asked on a pc forum i visit and someone said a 8x card will work but it will just run at 4x, which sounds right

 

As long as the x8 card is capable of running at x4 (which I believe they all are) then yes it would work!

There will only be a significant difference in detailed graphics, for instance games, but if you have a x4 mobo it doesn't sound like you play games

yeah ... some people are just too tight to buy new stuff then complain when it don't work properly
