Smile First time owner

Hello all, I am a first time owner of a S2 ERST. Its only done 59,000 miles. the body work is in really good condition, its been garaged for a long time, and some of the parts feel as tho they have worn out/seized. As an example it looks to have only covered 1000 miles in 10years according to the service book. I want to slowly rebuild this car, it seems to be misfiring at around 3,500rpm in most if not all gears, so I am going to send it for a full service check etc.

I was just wondering if you guys could help me with tips and hints, best places for parts and what bits i will need to buy for the service and then i will rolling road it to get a diagnostics check. It allegedly was running a 2 stage boost on it, but i cant see any supporting components. Thanks

ps my bonnet cable just snapped

I find carpartsexpress great for most parts, keep an eye on the for sale section and most things can be got on eBay .

There are lots of recommended garages but I'm in Ireland so someone else might tell you where to go based on your location

parts are easy to get hold of.i know plenty of breakers that could supply you with pretty much any parts... oh and for new parts at cheap rates try matt lewis rs parts mate they are good and post etc.. your cable snapping problem/jack car up use a torch to see the bonnet catch from underneath and then hit it pull it the bonnet will open mate.. easy! then obviously replace cable before shutting bonnet.. or if its come off the bracket inside the car end just pull it with pliers

happened to me once .. took me 5 mins to jack it up and push the catch open with a rod.. grease up the lock aswell because sometimes they dont lock properly so when driving loads let go so the bonnet flicks up and damages scuttle etc. .never happened to me in my rs turbo ownership but had happened to my mates when he had his. the misfire you have could be dizze coil, leads, plugs or need setting up.is it all standard~?

when you look from underneath the catch will be just near the turbo.

It is all standard yes apart from suspension and alloys also custom exhaust pipe.. However it claims to have been running a 2stage turbo.. But to me it doesn't seem the case as it lacks power and nothing under the bonnet to support that claim. I do have a switch in my coin slot that flicks on and off but there isn't any performance change whilst driving but I'd not realise as it misfires and sticks at 3,500rpm
