Advise !!!
Im thinking i might have over done it at the gym on wednesday, both my arms have had a dull sort of ache since then.. but.. about 2.30pm i decided i'd best do some work, picked up a roll of machine film ( approx 45kg ) and my left arm went f'kin nuts - the muscle (bicep) went a purple'ish maroon colour and since then i haven't been able to move my arm at all without it feeling like someone's just rammed a knife through it.
The muscle area is no longer a weird colour, although the area is a bit darker than normal. I've just got in from work ( which was fun in a manual car !!) smothered it in deep heat and put one of those support bandage thingies on.
Any idea's on what i've done ? I necked 2 cocodamol which normally put me up with the pixies and they've not even touched it ! Got a doctors appointment booked for 9am as they don't think it's an emergency but it f'kin hurts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you have torn the bicep. The purple/dull colour will be bruising where the blood has rushed to the tear.
Rest is the only cure i think. Doc may give you some pain killers if need be.
(Just my opinion, i aint no doctor but from how you describe it sounds like the most obvious diagnosis)
P.S. The dull ache your arms had after the gym session would just have been DOMS (Delayed onset muscle soreness) from your workout, totally natural, i doubt it will be related to your injury.

It wil fucking hurt mate, jst keep taking strong pain killers like 400 mg either 2 or if 400mg jst one! Good to hv it straped up but keep making sure its no to tight! Brusing will be where the muscle has torn but rest and ice and compression from a bandage will do it good!
Aint no doctor mate, he myt say totally opp but did sports injurie at uni, good luck sounds killer!
