What about grips or something similar? Or try tapping the torx bit in and then un-doing it, needs must really, just be careful and im sure you will get it out.

the next size up is far to big

i needs a t55 at the mo ( which is about the same as a 10mm allen key, the t60 is about the same as a 12mm allen key )

hmmmm, what about drinlling down the centre of the head of the bolt, then you could pull the head over the bolt shaft and remove that after? You'll need a fucking good drill bit though

hmmm... you say a torx bit,, but it isnt actually a torx bit at all, it looks like one , but isnt, its aspecial M12 12point drive bit , used by ford VW and a few others for suposed "main delaer" type operations..

if you have been using a torx bit, that may be why its slipped and chewed up, the proper bit would never come out...

They do look similar, torx have a lot deeper teeth though don't they. I'm surprised a torx would even fit that well Torx are only six point arent they?

Is there any possibilty hes got some after market bolts fitted that are torx?

What a shitter

Well first things first i'd get the correct bit and you might get lucky and just be able to tweak the bolt undone, certainly worth a try and your going to want it when you re-fit the head anyway, certainly worth a try you have nothing to lose
