Default 2wd sapphire cold running problems

I have a 2wd sapphire cos and first thing in the morning it starts fine, after a second or two it starts to missfire and appears to over fuel, while like this if you try to drive it, it will stall and be a sod to re start, if you leave it to tick over for 10mins it will be ok, but it still feels slightly flat. she is running yellow injectors unknown chip, low compression pistons stg 2 hybrid turbo. all the sensors appear to check out ok and the amal valve is working. The only thing I haven't changed is the ecu, although I have tried a chip. has anyone got any ideas.
Also does anyone know where you can get a new engine loom, and roughly how much, as my car is the one that caught fire at castle coombe on the 10th of july, and although running just the same as before, it could do with a new loom.

Try another fuel regulator and set the fuel pressure.

I have set the fuel pressure, and that seams to be fine! After some more investigation, it
only seams to be number 1 cylinder, I have checked the compressions and they are all close to each other ( They are low, but it has low comp pistons). I'm running out of ideas, and cornwall is so far from any good specialists!

Try disconnecting the vacuum pipe from the regulator, you might have a hole in the diaphram so the engine will suck fuel from the vacuum pipe.

Is there not a cold start sensor on a Cos?
If so, could it be that?

I'll have to try another pressure regulator, I think the cold start is controlled by the ecu, but I don't think that would explain missing on one cylinder, i've tried plugs and change the injectors ( that caused the fire at castle coombe).

If you think that the problem is on No:1 clyinder then try, disconnect the injector plug No:1 and start the engine on 3 clyinders and it should keep running.

Ok up date on what i've tried, air temp sensor coolant temp sensor, had engine rebuild, a chip, complete ecu, injectors, map sensor, dizzy phase sensor, new leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, fuel presure regulator, fuel pump, filter, fuel pipes and I still can't get the b*tch to cold start properly, it still over fuels and misses from cold, enough fuel to start filling the sump with fuel! when warm she runs fine and like sh*t off a shovel, Has anyone got any Ideas! pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaassssssssseeeeeee

You should try a wiring harness,I had one with such problem once and it was the loom.

I would love to try a loom, looking at plenty of second hand ones on ebay, but would rather fit new, but you can't get from ford any more, anyone got any ideas where to get one from! I'll try anything now.....

I wouldn't think you would have cold start problems in Malta Roger!

You really need to get this car onto a Pectel monitor to be honest fella...

Incidentally, your not using Champion C57s are you?

Ive seen various engines with C57's that, inexplicably, wont run very well at all unless under decent load... im unsure myself what causes this but the important thing is, i know a different set of plugs cures it.

We do some decent Motorcraft plugs that run very well indeed up to 400bhp and for less cash too

Mine keeps going through plugs, I thought its just because its over fueling when cold! At the moment i've got NGK platinums in her.
This will sound thick but whats a pectel monitor?

I`ve got the same problem . It used to have NGK R`s , but now c59c`s and its worse

Funny that sometimes it runs decent , but sometimes it missfires like hell .
It`s worse when cold .
