Default 2.0/2.1 CVH

Is it possible to make a CVH 2.0/2.1 litre?

I see a Zetec block is the same physical size and dimensions, so therefore is it not possible to bore a CVH block out to 86mm or whatever it is to achieve 2.0 capacity?

(for a turbo'd engine by the way)

Boring a 1.6 is out of the question. Would be very easy though to build a 2.0CVH from a SPI engine.

You say boring out a CVH is out of the question, does that mean its not possible, or not practical to?

Whats an SPI engine?

Not possible. The walls of the bore would not be there anymore.

Ok

exscuse my ignorance on this, how do you achieve 2.0 on a zetec block then, from a top cross sectional area view they are exactly the same size are they not? Hence why you can fit a CVH head on? SO surely you must be able to bore it out to 86mm as per a Zetec block? If that makes sense?

Or does boring to 86mm on a CVH not achieve 2.0l, meaning the Zetec block must be taller, as in longer stroke bores?

And the 2.0 zetec has siamesed bores. That is, the walls are so thick that there's no water between the bores. Quite different to a 1.8 Zetec or 1.6CVH block. So, you can't bore a 1.8 Zetec to 2.0 either.

Bollucks

Whats the furthest you can take a CVH to then?

Presumeably the 1.9 American blocks are taller? And can they reach 2.0?

U are missing the point. Why would u want to increase the capacity?

am i right in thinking the max you can get out of a cvh is 1800, but in doing so your boarded lining the bore wall thickness for strenght, as in give it to much $hit and ya crack the bore

Am i being incredibly dumb or does higher capacity not mean more power?

I thought this was the whole reason for ZVH's etc, except i want to keep it as close to the original engine as possible.

Out of what CVH? Remember that also 1.8, 1.9 and 2.0 variants have been used by Ford from new.
