Default S2 erst cutting out.

A guy came to see me today while I was at work.
He had me have a quick look at his S2 which was completley standard.

The car was ticking over fairley well, but as soon as he plugged in his fuel enrichment conector on his fuel distributor, the engine died instantly. The engine would start again once dis-connected.

I would have got fired if i'd have spent time looking at it (as We ain't allowed to do foriegners) so I said I would dig out some spare parts and ceck it out with a wiring diagram some night nex week.

I was hoping that someone on here may have come across a similar problem and know of a simple solution to save me dusting down my multimeter.

Thanks alot in advance chaps.

I disconnected both the coolant sensor and the thermo-time switch, both of which made no difference.

I did mention that it could be the black box. I will try mine on it when I next see him. Fingers crossed.

Thanks alot Stu.

Actually to check the CTS you should short it, not disconnect it. Anyhow, good that the problem is found now.
