Just checked the workshop manual, and boy, do you need a lot of special tools, more specifically:
-One to remove seals.
-One to install seals.
-One to fit the hub back onto the driveshaft.
Are they all strictly necessary, can you get by without them...
Any advice much appreciated

I got away without using any special tools. Just be careful when removing and replacing the seals, but have you seen the torque setting for the hub nut? I think it’s up the high 250nm range.
