Default Boost gauge readings ??????

Just a quick question if anyone can help?

I've fitted a boost gauge to a stage 2 sapph and on idle the vacuum (negative pressure) is reading 30 inHg is this Ok! or is there something wrong, I'm sure that I have read somewhere before that most gauges read at about 15 to 16 at idle.

Sorry no can do John! but to be honest the photo of it in the car would look the same as ubove picture but the needle would be on the 30 inHg.

Also had a play around with it today and noticed that when I pull the vacuum/air hose off from the top of the Dump valve the boost gauge then reads 15 inHg, if anyone has any more ideas! as to what the problem could be please let me know.

CHEERS!!!!

You have got the boost pipe connected wrong on your manifold then?

Can you tell me how you have the pipes connected for the DV, boost gauge and fuel pressure please?

mine idles at -0.6 bar gauge = 20 inHG and that with no air leaks or dump valve.

OK lets see if I can explain??

If you think of the outlets on the plenum as North _ East _ South _ West

Map sensor goes to North

the fuel reg goes to East

South is blanked off from the old breather

West goes to the Dump Valve which I have Teed off of close to the plenum for the feed to the Boost gauge.

Is this correct???

makes no difference really, all are into the same plennum, they are just there so each one can be directly connected, the order they are piped in makes no difference.
