Default removed g/box today and found.........

the release bearing has broken up causing the grooves in the input shaft



have fitted another box and new bearing, anyone know what might have caused this, when i last had the box off i installed the release bearing without any grease on the input shaft, could this have caused the release bearing to break up?

It could be that no grease has caused the problem, but a monday morning bearing also could be the problem, you never know what the problem was.

Cheers, have rebuilt box and new 6 paddle clutch going in soon and have new spigot bearing to go in too, could the spigot bearing have caused this damage then if worn?

they say no grease to be used as it holds the dirt and shit from the clucth and other places it looks like its seized inside and spun from this end to much playing not enougth driveing
