zetec turbo conversion, turbo question??????
Im turbo charging a RS 1800 engine, is there an adapter plate for the manifold and head to marry up or do i need to drill and tap the head, also could i use a standard turbo and manifold off an S2 or FRST.
One last thing, ive bought a standard intercooler off a FRST but the standard radiator doesnt seem to leave enough space to mount it!!

you can buy adapter plates but they aint cheap.
if you are running efi then you can convert the zetec plenum chamber and use that.
the turbo exhaust manifold can be drilled and taped to mate to the zetec head but one bolt goes through a water way i believe.
this is not the best way to do it but its the cheapest.

it goes through oil return ways i done mine few weeks ago just put studs in with chemical metal to seal studs<have a look at zetec-turbo.co.uk> the plates have good and bad stories too for flow and restriction my opinion drill and tap any questions give us a shout,tommy

drill and tap it. if you use an adapter plate you can run into clearance issues with turbo and radiator when you fit a big front mount intercooler that you WILL need. standard frst intercooler was flung in bin.
standard radiator is longer than a frst radiator. fit a front mount an make up the pipe work to suit. will be far more effective than standard cooler.
