compreshion test
just done a compreshion test on my 2wd cossie
the resaults r as follows
1= 155 aprx
2= 155 aprx
3= 100 aprx
4= 155 aprx
these r all psi so because of the resaults i dont think its the valve guids
mabe piston rings/bent valve eney advise would be helpfull

Does the car smoke at all ?
Any signs of oil leaks ? How many miles do you do in 2 weeks ?
Why did you replace the head gasket previously ? Is the head flat - was it skimmed ?

it only smokes when you back off
i do around 150 miles in 2 weeks
the head gasket blew between a water way and cylinder 2
i replaced withe a grp a one
i got one of the enginers at work to check the head
i think they done it with a stright edge and enginers die

the best way to check for poor compression is to carry out a cylinder leak test,using an airline adaptor into each bore with valves rocked untill closed,if air is heard past the oil cap or dipstick then rings are probably to blame, try opening throttle inlet and liten in the exhaust pipe for air noise if any is heard then valves are the cause. have you tried squirting a little oil down the bores before the test if compression raises then this is also a good sign rings are in poor condition. hope this helps.
