Default Overheating lile a b***h

Hi, i know overheating is a common problem with erst, unfortunately mine seems to be overly occurent. I had it taken to the garage twice but the problem still remains. Apparently the radiator works for a little while but then all of a sudden i see that the temperature needle is at maximum and the fan has cut out, resulting in the internal heater and indicators cutting out (i have been told that they are all on the same relay) Im hoping someone can help me and tell me why the fuse and the relay get burnt.
Thanks in advance

You solve the problem mate?

Why not just put a switch in car and run the fan off that so you can have the fan on when ever you want

Tbh the frst's are really bad for it,a m8 of mine used to drive round with his heater on hot and the internal fans going like the clappers in the summer,he used to have to hang out the window as it got so hot in the car. A system flush would be a good idea to remove any crap and a over ride fan switch for use in traffic is wise too. You'll notice once you get moving the temp stays reasonable, airflow is key with rsts overheating, maybe a bumper mod in order to get more air to the rad perhaps? There is a cosmetic issue then ofcourse.

surely it's down to a knackered component somewhere in the system. they didn't leave the factory with overheating probs did they? replace the thermostat, give the system a good flush and make sure there isn't any air in the system, might even be worth buying a new rad. unless your engine is heavily modded with big boost it should run as cool as a standard car. if it was me i would remove all the hoses to and just double check things, refill with antifreeze/summer coolant and hopefully you'll be cooler than an eskimo's arsecheeks
